What are the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals?

The 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) and their 169 targets were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 under Agenda 2030 to promote global sustainable development. Unanimously adopted at the UN Summit for Sustainable Development in September 2015 by all 193 member states, they officially came into effect on January 1, 2016, with a 15-year timeframe for all UN member states. These goals address diverse challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental protection, education, healthcare, and gender equality, each with specific targets and indicators to measure progress. The SDGs aim to tackle global challenges by 2030, urging companies to improve practices and contribute to a sustainable world.
